Born and raised in Inverness, Alex deeply values family, community and the natural beauty of Cape Breton! In the early 1970's he and his wife Eleanor moved to western Canada, in part, to begin Alex's long career in industrial instrumentation and project management with Canada's oil and gas sector. After several years in Alberta, they returned to Inverness to raise their three children.
Alex and Eleanor enjoy participating in all that their community has to offer. They have been small business owners and are heavily involved with local volunteer organizations, the Inverness Education Centre's Breakfast Program, youth sports programming and the Inverness Main Street Committee. Alex and Eleanor instilled this sense of community in their three children who have all moved back to begin careers in Inverness County.
Knowing that a house is, typically, the single largest investment a family will make, Alex approaches the buying and selling of properties with honesty, integrity and sincerity. He is entirely respectful of the trust clients place in him and sensitive to the very personal connections people have to homes, land and place.
Alex's entrepreneurial spirit shines whether he is ensuring that the clients' assets receive the value they deserve or by connecting people with the properties they love. When Alex wanted a home for his young family, he bought the books, did the research and taught himself how to build one! As a Tradewinds' client, you can expect that same level of drive and determination from Alex as he works to meet and maintain the high expectations his clients have for their properties and home purchases.
